The 28 Houseki must fight against the moon dwellers who want to attack them and turn them into decorations, thus each gem is assigned a role such as a fighter or a medic. In the distant future, a new life form called Houseki (gems) is born. An anime promotional video was released in July 2013 by Studio Hibari, and a 2D/3D-hybrid anime television series adaptation by Orange that covers 31 chapters of the manga aired between October and December 2017. Set in a world inhabited by “jewel people,” it chronicles their efforts to find the place where they belong and defend their way of life.
